“And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.” Luke 22:19-20
When we receive ‘the body and blood of Christ that we may be for the world the body of Christ redeemed by his blood,’ we are remembering. At the same time, we are also remembered, put back together again.
We pray that we may be ‘one with Christ, one with each other, and one in ministry to all the world.’ God’s work of making us one and uniting us with Christ, with each other and in our witness and life in the world is the ordinary way by which God feeds us, sustains us, and empowers us to live as Christians in the world.”
Communion Stewards serve on a rotation schedule once a month, typically on the first Sunday of each month. Communion is administered by intention. Therefore, Stewards assist the Pastor with administering the Eucharist to the congregation. For more information regarding this ministry, please contact the church office at (706) 498-5663.
