If you have not been baptized, but would like to join St. Andrew, we’d love to help you take this important step. If you would like to be baptized but have hesitated because you don’t want to be baptized at the front of the church with the babies, we completely understand! It is affirming to all of us when adults step forward during the service to accept the gift of God’s grace through water and the spirit, but we can also arrange for a baptism in the Chapel if you prefer, with family, friends and other church members who want to support you. If you believe in Jesus Christ and accept him as your Savior, we invite you to be part of a brief ceremony of this outward symbol of God’s inward love for us. Please let us know if you’re interested.
Baptism is one of the great joys shared as a family of faith. As you begin to consider baptizing your child, the following information can serve as a guide in exploring this sacred event. Baptisms may be scheduled in any of the worship services on most weekends, except the first weekend of each month. This weekend is always reserved for the sacrament of Holy Communion. On occasion, some services are reserved for special worship times and baptisms are not scheduled for that particular day.
Once you are ready to schedule a baptism date, contact the Senior Pastor in the church office (706) 498-5663. Baptisms may be scheduled as far in advance as you would like, but it is requested that at least two weeks notice be given before the selected date. Adults seeking to be baptized and parents of the infants will need to attend a Baptism class prior to the selected baptism date. To be baptized at Bold Spring UMC, church membership is a requirement.
We schedule one baptism per church service so that we can give our full attention to you and your family on this blessed occasion.
Bold Spring United Methodist Church considers it an honor to share in a wedding experience. We consider a wedding to be a worship service, a celebration before God of two lives joined into one. Bold Spring UMC asks all couples marrying here to seriously consider the central role of God in the marriage relationship and to understand their wedding as a sacred worship event involving all of the people attending. Premarital counseling is required of all couples who marry here.
We know that planning the details of a memorial service can be overwhelming, and we would like to assist you in any way we can. As Christians, we grieve as those who have a unique hope in the Risen Christ, thus empowering us to mark the occasion of death as a time in which the hope of the Gospel is reaffirmed with joy and peace. A United Methodist service acknowledges this hope and offers family and friends the opportunity to remember a loved one’s life and offer them into God’s care. The service should be a time to celebrate the wonderful gift God gave to us in our relationship with the deceased.
The properly planned service can be a benediction and a comfort to us, as well as a witness to our faith. Please know we are here for you and welcome the opportunity to be of assistance to you and your family. If you have questions regarding memorial service planning, please contact the Senior Pastor at (706) 498-5663
